A SET of car keys were stolen from a house in Radlett which enabled the thieves to drive off in the vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.

The break-in at a house in Gills Hill is one of a spate of burglaries in Hertsmere which has prompted police to warn people to be extra vigilant and make sure they have secured their property before going out or going to bed.

In the Radlett incident, the thieves forced a window at the back of the property between 2.55pm and 3.30pm and took the car keys before driving off in the owner's silver Toyota estate.

Similar break-ins have happened in Norfolk Gardens and Dale Road, Borehamwood.

Police are also investigating the theft of front and rear number plates from a vehicle in Radlett overnight last Friday, July 3 and 4.

They were taken from a blue Peugeot 206 in Everett Court on Watling Street and anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Phil Tuck on 01727 796615 or the non-emergency number above.
