POLICE are appealing for information after a car was deliberatly set on fire in the early hours of this morning (Friday).

Two fire crews from St Albans were called to Westbourne Mews at 2am, where they found the blue BMW well alight.

Police said the passenger window had been smashed and some sort of accelerant had been poured into the vehicle.

It is currently being treated as arson.

No arrests have been made at this stage and police are continuing with their enquiries.
