A CAR found ablaze on a local golf course overnight was stolen from a nearby residential street a week ago, police have revealed.
The grey Saab estate was dumped and torched in a wooded area of Batchwood Golf Course at around 3am this morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene and had to use extended hose reels to put out the flames engulfing the car, which was completely destroyed by fire.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the car was stolen from a driveway in Townsend Drive between 11am and midday on Wednesday, February 10.
She said that investigations were still ongoing and asked anyone with information regarding the theft to contact police on 0845 3300 222 quoting crime reference number F1/10/551.
