FIREFIGHTERS were called to a car fire in Park Street last night.
The fire had spread to the fuel tank of the vehicle and took over 30 minutes to bring under control.
A crew from St Albans Fire Station tackled the fire on Branch Road, very close to Park Street Primary School.
It is thought the fire was started deliberately.
Anyone who witnessed anything or has information is encouraged to call the police non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
