A MAN was taken to hospital this afternoon, following a collision between a car and a bus in St Albans city centre.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Street, near to the junction with Lattimore Road, just before 1pm.

A silver Vauxhall Vectra and an Arriva bus were in collision.

One man, believed to be the driver of the car, was taken to the QEII hospital in Welwyn Garden City with minor injuries.

Onlookers said that traffic was building in the area while the vehicles were waiting to be recovered, but the scene has now been cleared.
