CAMPAIGN group STRiFE has said the fight against the massive rail freight terminal in Park Street “is not over yet.”

Speaking following the High Court judgement which ordered the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Eric Pickles to revisit the proposals for the 3.5 million square-foot depot on the former Radlett Airfield, STRiFE founder Cathy Bolshaw said that she understands there will be an appeal against today’s (Friday) decision.

She said: “It is disappointing, very disappointing. But from what I’ve heard the Secretary of State is going to go back to the judge and appeal and it sounds like it is all down to a technicality. So, let’s just say it’s not over yet.”

Although there is little that STRiFE can do as the decision is back in the hands of Government, she said that they will go through the ruling in detail over the weekend and seek legal advice early next week.

She said there was plenty of fight left in the campaign group and vowed to go on to the “nth degree.”
