A campaign has been launched to raise awareness of symptoms of lung and heart disease, as well as lung cancer.

Public Health England is set to raise awareness has launched the campaign to urge people in Hertfordshire to see a GP if they have breathlessness or a persistent cough for three weeks or more, as these symptoms are indicative of these diseases.

This campaign comes in response to a new survey revealing that people in the East of England are more likely to encourage others to seek medical help than go themselves.

Early diagnosis is vital to saving lives and improving quality of life, as they are more easily treated when in earlier stages.

The campaign is aimed at men and women aged 50 and above, as these people are at the most risk.
