GREEN-FINGERED local residents and workers have six categories in the newly-revived St Albans and District in Bloom competition they can enter this year.

They are Best Front Garden, Best Young Gardener, Best Retail Frontage, Best Parish in Bloom, Best Environmentally Friendly Garden and Best Senior Citizen garden.

The competition is sponsored by Aylett Nurseries and supported by the Herts Advertiser, and will run from July to September.

Entries must be with St Albans council by September 6, and there are �100 Aylett vouchers up for grabs for all the category winners.

An application form can be obtained from the Civic Centre in St Peter’s Street, St Albans, or any parish office in the district.
