A group which was initially founded to save St Albans Butterfly World is hosting an evening of bee-themed entertainment in St Albans.
Butterfly World 2.0 was set up as 'Save Butterfly World', with the aim of saving the Chiswell Green project after it closed down in 2016. The group now works to continue Butterfly World's legacy, and has sown wildflower meadows in St Albans's Abbey Orchard, Watford and Hemel Hempstead.
A folk concert, hosted by the charity, will be held at The Rose and Crown pub in St Michael's Street from 8pm to 10pm on Thursday, May 30, as part of St Albans Sustainability Festival.
The concert will feature music from Songhive, a folk song project which aims to raise awareness of the plight of bees. Founder Rowan Piggott and his band will perform a mixture of songs in praise of bees.
Doors open at 7.30am and donations will be divided between Butterfly World 2.0 and Friends of the Earth.
