A BUSY St Albans road has been closed today for repairs and won't re-open for at least two days.

A dip in the southbound carriageway on Drakes Drive is due to be excavated this evening and re-filled over the course of the next 48 hours, leaving it closed to traffic in both directions.

Both south and northbound carriageways will be closed from 6pm today with the same diversion in place, taking motorists through Camp Road, Hill End Lane, Highfield Park Drive and London Road.

Bus passengers must use the bus stop prior to the closure in Drakes Drive or one after the closure in Camp Road.
