BUSTER the Dinosaur put his best foot forward to help a Harpenden primary school celebrate the first anniversary of its walking bus.

As the county's walking bus mascot, he visits schools across Herts to promote the pioneering scheme which was launched in 1998. The Grove School celebrated the first birthday of its walking bus scheme with Buster at their side.

Mrs Pippa Bremner, head of the Grove Junior School, said: "The walking bus is a deceptively simple idea which has made a real difference. Not only does it cut down on the number of cars on the roads at peak times, it helps children learn good road sense as well as the importance of walking and keeping fit.

"We have had a walking bus at our school now for a year and we are delighted that Buster was able to join us to celebrate this important anniversary along with the parents who give up their time to make it possible.
