A St Albans business director has been named a ‘diversity champion’ at a national awards ceremony.
Bev Williams, director at Willmott Dixon interiors, was announced as overall diversity champion at the Inspire Awards, which celebrate diversity in UK construction, engineering and housing.
Bev, who was also crowned ‘most inspiring mentor’, worked to inspire her colleagues to support diversity both as director of the company and as a working mum, having recently returned from parental leave.
As well as allowing employees to work flexibly around personal circumstances, Bev has also taken a lead in the company’s approach to embracing equality, diversity and inclusion.
She said: “It was incredible to win these awards as the subject is very close to my heart. I hope I can promote the construction industry as a fantastic place to work regardless of gender.”
