A BUS company is playing cupid this Valentines Day and is offering people a unique way to pop the question to their loved ones on the most romantic day of the year.

Arriva will be offering up its 'Love Bus' to the people of St Albans, which will be personalised to carry the lucky woman or man's name alongside the marriage proposal.

The bus, which will laid on free of charge, will be complete with chocolates, champagne, cherubs, hearts and harps.

Linsey Frostick, marketing manager for Arriva the Shires and Essex, said: "We're going to inject a bit of romance into St Albans with our 'Love Bus'. The actual place you ask someone to marry you is very important and in recent years people have striven to make the most unusual and memorable proposals."

She added: "We want to hear from people in St Albans who are planning to ask someone to marry them on February 14 and we will work with them to set up the special event, using our 'Love Bus' as the mobile venue.

"And if we have any successful proposals we will, of course, be on hand to help with transport to the wedding!"
