POLICE are investigating an overnight break-in at Boots on St Peter’s Street in St Albans, where entry was gained via a door on the roof of the pharmacy on St Peter’s Street.
A spokesman for Herts Police said that the burglary occurred between 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday) and 5.30am today, with offenders forcing their way into the shop via a rooftop door.
He added that once inside Boots the burglars made an “untidy search” of the store and took a number of items before leaving the premises via the roof.
The spokesman added that as details are scant at present, with the investigation in its early stages, there is no information on what exactly was stolen as yet.
Anyone with information about the burglary should contact police on non-emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
