TWO burglars wearing balaclavas raided a Harpenden pub and restrained the landlady at the weekend.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident at the Old Bell pub in Luton Road which happened at around 10.45pm.
The two thieves entered at the rear of the pub and restrained the landlady who was in the office at the time.
They then took a large amount of cash and a laptop from the office before fleeing the scene.
Investigating officer Pc Katherine Smith said: “Luckily the landlady was not badly injured during the burglary, but she was very shocked and shaken. Although there were no customers in the pub at the time of the burglary, we are hoping that someone may have witnessed something suspicious earlier in the evening when the pub was busy, or around the time of the burglary.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Pc Smith on 0845 3300222 quoting crime ref: F1/11/674.
