A 100-year-old Brownie unit is in danger of folding if a new pack leader does not come forward.

Mother-of-three Kirsty Burfot and another leader have been running the 7th St Albans Brownie unit based at Bernards Heath for about seven years but she needs to devote more time to her bid to become a midwife.

Mrs Burfot, of Melbourne Close, St Albans, said: "I hope someone comes forward because we have 30 keen girls with a waiting list of another 40 to join. Being a leader is a lot of fun and immensely rewarding."

She said that volunteers would only have to devote a couple of hours a week to the Brownies. So if you are female and aged between 18 and 65, please email seventhstalbansbrownies@yahoo.co.uk or call Kirsty on 07926 358394.
