The nature attraction was visited by Francine Lewis, a finalist last year in the popular ITV show who made headlines for her impressions of Stacey Solomon and Katie Price.

Yesterday (Thursday) she held a stick insect for the first time at Butterfly World, and later tweeted she had had a “fab time” and that anyone who knew her would be “shocked” to see a photo of her holding an insect.

Francine joked: “Who knows maybe I could do the jungle.”

Renowned broadcaster and naturalist David Bellamy is joining a bug hunt bonanza at Butterfly World, located off Noke Lane in Chiswell Green, tomorrow, Saturday June 28.

The botanist, known for his career as a wildlife presenter, will join visitors to hunt down and identify bugs as part of National Insect Week.

Visitors will be given the chance to explore the site’s 27 acres of specially created habitats and asked to record their findings for the survey.
