Pharmacist Sujata Patel could not be blamed for feeling a bit light-headed with the success of her charity fundraising.
The Bricket Wood businesswoman, who runs the Springfield Pharmacy in Jersey Farm, took the hair-raising decision to have her long locks cut to raise money for the cash-struck Hertfordshire Action on Disability (HAD).
So far Sujata has raised £2,600 but is hoping to reach her target of £3,000. As an added bonus, her cut hair is being used by The Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for children with cancer.
Sujata had over three feet of her hair cut off at the neighbouring Ro Ko Ko salon and now sports a shoulder-length style.
The salon’s assistant manager Alistair Marsh said it was the most hair he’d cut off in 23 years as a stylist.
