A FRUIT machine was ransacked after a break-in at a village football club overnight on Tuesday.

The thief broke in to Colney Heath FC in the High Street by forcing a grill over a window with a spade and then smashing the glass.

He stole around £250 from the fruit machine before getting out the same way as he got in.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non emergency number 101.
