A BOWLS club set up more than 100 years ago is desperately seeking new members.
St Albans Bowling Club was first established in 1903 at its Clarence Park base. Now the bowlers want to increase their 100-strong membership with people of all ages and abilities
This year's captain Peter Kay is the district singles champion and Pauline Gardiner is the ladies district singles champion but you don't have to be a champ to join.
Club member Kevin Hull said: "We welcome new bowlers of any standard - even if you just want to turn up for a friendly 'roll-up'.
"We have a bar, catering and changing facilities plus off-road parking located in a lovely setting."
The new season starts on Saturday week, April 12, when the clubhouse will be open to anyone interested in having a look round.
If any would-be members would like more information they can contact Kevin on 07940 580297 or e-mail him on kevinhull@khprint.co.uk
