FOUR people have been arrested for a series of distraction burglaries across the country.

Fourteen of the offences were committed in Hertfordshire in St Albans, Colney Heath, Harpenden, Hatfield, Aston, Standon, Datchworth and Hemel Hempstead.

Following an intensive nationwide operation this week, detectives from Operation Manhunt Police are leading the investigation into over 30 offences which were committed in October 2009.

The four arrested are a 55-year old man from Nottinghamshire, a 17-year old man from Leeds, a 20-year old woman from Ruislip and a 47-year old woman from Greenford - both in Middlesex.

All four have been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
