A MAN'S body was discovered at a country park near Radlett yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
The man, who had yet to be identified, was found dead in Aldenham Country Park, Elstree, with serious head injuries at around 8.50am.
Police are treating the death as suspicious and are appealing to members of the public to help them trace the last movements of the man, who is thought to be in his 40s and was dressed in a high visibility jacket.
The body was found in parkland near to a disused kiosk and adjacent to a car park in Dagger Lane, and it is believed that the incident took place after 5am.
Investigating officer Detective Superintendent Mick Hanlon, of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "This is an extremely shocking incident where a man has sadly lost his life.
"A lot of dog walkers and joggers frequent the country park and we would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious or who believes they may have seen a man fitting this description in the vicinity to come forward.

The area remains cordoned off at this time and a mobile police station is on the scene.
