THE new Bishop of St Albans, the Rt Rev Alan Smith, will join the Mayor and the crowds at the annual Christmas carol service on Sunday, December 13.
All proceeds from the carol service which starts at 4pm outside the Alban Arena in St Peter's Street, will go to Grove House once again.
St Albans Choral Society accompanied by the City Band will be performing many favourite traditional carols with a short address by the Mayor, Cllr Chris Oxley.
The Bishop will be joined by the Dean of St Albans, the Very Rev Jeffery John.
A spokesperson for Grove House said: "We are delighted and most grateful to the Mayor for once again choosing Grove House to benefit from the proceeds of this lovely traditional evening.
"We are a local charity, helping local people and relying on local support to keep our services running. At the moment every penny makes a difference so we are hoping that this event will be well supported."
