A SPECIALIZED bike which was given as a wedding gift has been stolen from outside a house in St Albans.
The Specalized crossroad mountain bike was taken from Riverside Road on Thursday April 12 between 11.30am and 12.15pm.
The bike had front and back mud guards, a silver back rack and a distinctive bell on it which had come from Switzerland.
PC Ben Kirby said: “The victim is extremely upset by what has happened to her. Her and her husband enjoyed spending time out cycling and heartless thieves have ruined this for them.”
The officer asked people to be on the look out should they see the bike for sale, adding: “Not only do we want to bring these people to justice but we also want the bike returned.”
He said he’d urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact the police via the non-emergency number 101.
