A LOST guinea pig which was found wandering around a London Colney garden is waiting to be reunited with its owner.

The white and ginger guinea pig was discovered in the back garden of a property in the Napsbury Park area and, following a call from the concerned owner of the house, Hertsmere Borough Council officers picked it up last Friday (18).

Council officer Sue Hardy is helping to look after the pig, nicknamed Rusty, and said that it clearly came from a loving home: "Rusty is very docile and obviously used to being handled so we do think he's a pet. He's been the cause of much attention in the office and I'm sure its owner will be keen to find him - it would be lovely to reunite them."

If you are Rusty's owner or think he belongs to someone you know, please contact Hertsmere Borough Council on 020 8207 7435 or email environmental.health@hertsmere.gov.uk. If no one comes forward to claim him, Rusty will be re-homed.
