ONLINE betting firm Spreadex backed a loser when it had its advertisement banned on the grounds that it links gambling with sex.
The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) ruled against the St Albans firm's advertisement which showed a man in a car with two attractive women, claiming it irresponsibly linked gambling with sexual success and attractiveness.
Andy McKenzie, spokesman for Spreadex, which is based in Grosvenor Road, said: "In no way do we mean to suggest that opening an account with us is going to make you better looking."
He said the firm was disappointed that the ASA banned their advert after receiving only one complaint.
