ST ALBANS: The traditional Beating the Bounds ceremony which follows the ancient boundary of the city as far as possible is being held from 2pm this Sunday.
The event starts at the Pudding Stone in front of Kingsbury Mill in St Michael’s and will cover a distance of around 4.5 miles and last around two hours. The “bounds” will be beaten at four points and the Mayor’s Chaplain, Will Gibbs, will say a short prayer.
Among the walkers will be the Mayor, Cllr Maxine Crawley, Deputy Mayor, Cllr Beric Read, the mace bearer John Hills and the town crier Stephen Potter. Everyone is invited to join in.
