A SECTION of Batchwood Drive in St Albans is currently closed off while police hunt for suspects of an attempted burglary.

Police were called at 12.40pm this afternoon (Monday) to reports of three people seen acting suspiciously in Ladies Grove, possibly trying to break into a house.

They are then thought to have made off in a vehicle, which has been abandoned in Batchwood Drive.

The road is currently closed between Verulam Road and Waverley Road while police look for the suspects. The police helicopter has also been called out.

A spokesperson for Herts Police confirmed that one person has been detained so far.
