A BAG was snatched from a car in a quiet village street on Sunday, October 25.

The theft took place at 12.20pm in Woodhall Lane, Shenley, when a man approached a woman who was in her car and motioned to her to get out.

She refused and it is thought he opened the car door and took the bag, containing a small amount of cash, from the front passenger seat.

The thief is described as white, aged between 20 and 25 and around 5ft 7ins tall with dark brown hair. He was wearing light-coloured trousers.

DC Paul Spencer, who is investigating the bag snatch, said that there had been a few similar incidents in other areas of the county recently and he urged people to lock their car doors when driving and keep bags and valuables out of view.

Anyone with information is asked to contact him on the police non-emergency number 0845 3300222.
