THE founder of St Albans-based public relations company Blackbird Communications, Stuart Brooks, has been honoured with the Freelancer of the Year Award for the Thames and Chiltern region of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Presented at the CIPR region’s PRide annual awards ceremony at the Runnymede Hotel and Spa in Egham, Surrey, the event drew more than 150 public relations professionals from across the area.
Recognised for the use of new media in delivering exposure for his clients, which include Hatfield Road-based franchised dealership, Brayley Honda, Mr Brooks was presented with his award by Deenita Pattni, editorial director of Xchangeteam recruitment consultants, the sponsor for the Freelancer of the Year category.
He said afterwards: “I’m thrilled to have achieved this recognition from the CIPR in only my second year of running Blackbird Communications. I’m sincerely grateful to the support of my family and, of course, my clients.
“It’s a fantastic early Christmas present and will I’m sure, add greater credibility to my proposition in my efforts to develop the business next year.”
