Would-be burglars were unsuccessful in their attempt to break into a St Albans jewellers last night.

Herts police were alerted to an incident at Kings Hill Jewellery at about 10.30pm because the burglar alarm was going off.

Offenders had tried to break into the store but they did not get into the premises and nothing was stolen.
