AN ART display arranged by students and staff of Oaklands College is set to benefit Iain Rennie Grove House (IRGH). Throughout January, fine art paintings and prints have been on display at Arty Parties in Hatfield Road, St Albans.

The exhibition has been a chance for the local community to go along, see the work and put in a bid for original pieces of art.

At 6.30pm next Wednesday, February 1, the bidding box will be opened by Oaklands College Principal Zoe Hancock, who will be announcing the lucky few with the highest bids. A donation from all sales will be made to IRGH.

Jude O’Sullivan, head of art fashion and design at Oaklands, commented: “The exhibition has been a fantastic opportunity for Oaklands, the local community and a great local charity. It has given a real sense of fulfilment for everyone involved.

“There are some really exciting young artists on display and it is a real opportunity to purchase an original piece of work and help raise much-needed funds for a local charity.”
