Did you see a serious crash on the southbound M1 near St Albans yesterday morning?

Police from Beds, Cambs and Herts Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses to the accident at just after 9.40am between J7-6, near the exit slip road to the M25.

A Renault Clio in the central lane was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra, resulting in two people being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sgt Colin Jenkinson said: “This is an extremely serious collision which has caused serious injuries to those involved. I would urge anyone who may have seen this incident or either car prior to the collision taking place to come forward.
