CCTV stills of three people have been released by police in connection with a bank card theft in St Albans earlier this month.

The incident on July 9 occurred at around 10.55am on St Peters Street when a man withdrew cash from inside the Natwest Bank. As he left the bank, another man approached him and distracted his attention by putting his arm around him and his face in front of him.

The offender walked off with a woman and the victim also walked off but later found that his cash and cards were missing from the front shirt of his pocket. He also discovered, via his bank, that his bank cards had been used to remove money from his account.

PC Shaun Woods, investigating, said: “We are really keen to speak to the people in the footage as they may be able to assist the investigation, or for anyone who recognises them to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information can contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 or can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
