POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a teenage girl was assaulted in St Albans this month.

She was walking along Hatfield Road towards St Albans City station on Saturday, February 16, between 10.15pm and 10.30pm, when a man approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately.

The victim managed to get away and the man walked off in the direction of the station.

The man is thought to be of Asian appearance, 5ft 5in tall, with a heavy build and short black hair. He wore a dark black jacket and jeans.

DC Ailsa Turnbull, from the local crime unit in St Albans, said: “I would urge anyone who saw this incident to contact police as soon as possible.

“Or, if you believe you may have been a victim of this same offender, please also get in touch.

“Your information may be vital to catching and prosecuting this man.”
