FARM animals will be taking over a St Albans shopping centre on Good Friday.

The mobile farm at the Maltings will include a calf, a pony or donkey, sheep, a goat, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs and a dog.

A farmer will also be on hand to answer and offer advice on caring for the animals.

The event celebrates National Pet Month for which this year's motto is "Healthy Pets Make Happy Pets".

Phil Corrigan, centre manager at The Maltings, said: "Pet owners share their homes with a wide range of animals from cats and dogs, to sheep and pigs. We are hoping that the animal farm will encourage people to think about their animals and the care that they give them."

The farmyard fun will be held between 11am and 4pm.
