GET on your bike to grab a free bicycle alarm worth £15 from St Albans City Station this month.
The alarms - being given away by train operator First Capital Connect (FCC) - will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis to commuters and fitted to the frame of the bike ready for collection at the end of the day.
The giveaway days are part of a trial aimed at measuring the impact of cycle alarms. FCC have joined together with the British Transport Police and St Albans District Council which are funding the initiative.
A council spokesperson said they hoped the intitiative would encourage residents to cycle to the station rather than use their cars. The giveaway days are between between 7am and 6pm on Wednesday, January 23, and between 6.30am and 9pm on January 29.
