A woman in her 60s has been seriously injured after falling off a horse in Wheathampstead.
The ambulance service was called at 9.52am today to woodland off Ferrers Lane, following reports that a woman had fallen off a horse.
A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and the Herts Air Ambulance arrived at the scene, accompanied by the Hazardous Area Response Team as they have vehicles which can go off-road.
The woman was treated for serious chest injuries, and was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in a serious condition.
