A MAN sustained head injuries when he fell from some scafolding in Harpenden yesterday (Thursday.)
The incident happened at around 3.30pm in Leyton Road and ambulance crews from St Albans and Harpenden went to the scene before calling on the assistance of the air ambulance.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “We believe the man fell off scaffolding and landed on wooden planks on the next level below. When our paramedics arrived at the scene they found him approximately six feet up, he had received a head injury.”
Gary added: “Due to the nature of the call, the air ambulance was called upon to assist the land paramedics. Following treatment, stabilisation and immobilisation by the paramedics and a doctor from the helicopter, the man was conveyed to the QE11 Hospital in Welwyn Garden City by land ambulance.”
