An East Anglian Air Ambulance chopper was sent to Harpenden this morning.
The helicopter, along with a land ambulance and a rapid response vehicle, was called out at 10.43am to Waveney Road for a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was treated at the scene before being taken to Lister Hospital in a serious condition.
