Crash on A5 near Markyate

Two cars have been involved in a head-on collision on the A5 in Markyate.

Police were called at 11.10am after the crash between a Fiat 500 and a grey Peugeot 508 between Lynch Hill and Luton Road.

One man and a woman have been injured and a male motorist is believed to be trapped in a vehicle.

Two fire crews are at the scene, from Markyate and St Albans respectively.

The road has been closed and there are delays on the A5183 southwards of up to five minutes and northwards of up to four minutes.
