All lanes were blocked on the A1(M) this morning after a car crash.
Traffic was at a standstill between Junctions 1 for South Mimms and 2 southbound, and the incident is not expected to completely clear before 9.30am.
The vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder.
Herts Police also closed a northbound lane while they helped with the incident.
