A St Albans man accused of having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl has denied all charges.

Rukon Miah, 37, of Waverley Road, pleaded not guilty to alleged incidents at St Albans Crown Court today (September 8).

At 10am this morning, Miah, dressed in a white shirt with navy blue trousers, took to the dock.

The female victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, accuses Miah of intentionally touching them having reasonably believed they were not aged 16 or over.

It is alleged Miah touched them sexually, involving penetration. A second count accuses the defendant of penetrating the victim's mouth.

The suspected incidents occurred between April 1, and May 31, 2025.

The 37-year-old has been granted condition bail prior to his trial at St Albans Crown Court on November 1, 2027.

Under the requirements, he must not contact the victim or any children under the age of 18 either directly or indirectly, including electronically on social media.

Miah cannot undertake any work, paid or voluntary, which brings him into contact with children under the age of 18 either.
