On this day in 2025, luxury wellbeing store Rituals proudly cut the ribbon for the opening of its 100th UK store in St Albans city centre.

The new shop was opened in The Maltings Shopping Centre, bringing Rituals’ signature immersive experience to the community.

At the time, Richard Marrett, The Maltings centre manager, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Rituals to The Maltings.

"As a brand that truly embodies modern luxury and holistic wellbeing, Rituals will elevate our retail offering with its immersive range of indulgent home and body products.

"We’re confident it will become a standout destination for shoppers seeking both quality and calm."

The new space, spanning across 128.5 sqm, was set to offer shoppers Rituals’ signature range of luxurious bath, body, and home products, designed to inspire moments of mindfulness and self-care in everyday life.

The opening marked another step in Rituals’ UK expansion strategy, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to bringing luxury wellbeing to regional lifestyle destinations.

Rituals’ expansion has also made a meaningful impact on communities, creating more than 1,000 jobs across the UK and contributing to the vitality of high streets.

Annemarie Forsyth, managing director at Rituals UK & Ireland, said: "Reaching 100 stores in the UK is more than a number - it’s a reflection of the deep connection we’ve built with our customers.

"From our very first store to this exciting new chapter in St Albans, we’ve remained committed to helping people slow down and find joy in everyday moments.

"We're excited to continue to thoughtfully expand our presence across the UK and Ireland, two markets which are hugely important to us.

"Helping us reach more communities while staying rooted in our values remains a focus."
