A woman’s bravery in coming forward has helped secure the conviction of an abuser who sexually assaulted and beat her.
Costas Jordanou, 34, of Bluecoat Court, Hertford, was convicted at St Albans Crown Court on July 2 of sexual assault by penetration, coercive and controlling behaviour, and assault by beating.
Detective Constable Jason Tinsey said: "It took great courage for the victim to come forward and report the abuse she sustained at the hands of Jordanou and I’m pleased we’ve been able to secure this conviction.
"We take reports of this nature very seriously. If anyone has experienced sexual assault or abuse, you will always be believed and we will do all we can to support you."
Jordanou was charged and remanded on December 19, 2025, following an investigation by the Sexual Offences Investigation Team (SOIT).
He will be sentenced on Friday, August 21.
