A "gang" of thieves have been jailed following an investigation into a string of burglaries in Berkhamsted and nearby.
Four men appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Friday, June 26, where they all pleaded guilty and were subsequently sentenced for conspiracy to commit burglary.
Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Mobile Support Team identified a vehicle linked to the crimes travelling through the Thames Valley area in February.
Officers stopped the vehicle and found a telescopic ladder, crowbars, gloves, cleaning fluid, and stolen property.
Three of the men were found with walkie talkies strapped to themselves.
The Crime Series Investigation Unit (CSIU) charged the four men with burglary offences in Berkhamsted and neighbouring counties between January 27 and February 3.
Bruno Hoxha
Bruno Hoxha, 40, of no fixed abode, jailed for 18 months.
Damia Docaj
Damia Docaj, 32, of Homemead in Gravesend, Kent, was jailed for 11 months.
Valentin Lico
Thirty six-year-old Valentin Lico, of Harrowden Road, Sheffield was jailed for 11 months.
Ervis Pllumbi
Ervis Pllumbi, 35, of on fixed abode, was also sentenced to 11 months imprisonment.
Detective Constable Dale Powell from the CSIU said: "This gang committed a string of burglaries, targeting detached properties and gaining access via upstairs windows.
"Our detectives managed to use ANPR technology and intelligence to track and trace the offender’s vehicle, which led to the initial stop and arrest.
"We have taken a gang, who were committing burglaries across a wide area, out of action.
"Our officers are constantly out and about, watching those involved in committing these types of offences and working proactively to keep the county safe."
