Vulnerable and older residents in Hertsmere have been targeted in a spate of bank card thefts at local car parks, police have revealed.
Suspects have instructed victims to use a card machine or pay and display machine before distracting them and taking their bank cards.
According to Hertfordshire Police, the suspects have been able to steal money by telling victims they need to say their pin numbers out loud to the machines.
Residents in Hertsmere are now being urged to remain vigilant.
PC Luke Hinchcliffe, from the Bushey and Radlett Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We’re carrying out extensive enquiries to find those responsible and we’re urging residents to be vigilant.

Thefts have been reported in multiple locations, including Merry Hill Road, in Bushey, Byng Drive, and The Drive in Potters Bar.
Incidents have also been reported at Manor Road Car Park, The Walk, High Street, all in Potters Bar, the Rutts Car Park, in Bushey, and Bush High Road Car Park.
Two people arrested in March in connection with similar offences in Bushey Heath are currently on bail.
Officers are investigating whether the recent thefts are linked.
