A student has taken home a top national prize for her creative talent.
Ruby, a Level 3 makeup student at Oaklands College, was awarded first place in the Royal Ballet and Opera House Design Challenge.
She won in the wigs, hair, and makeup category for a creative look that impressed judges with its artistic process and execution.
Bianca de Lozey, lead hair and media makeup tutor at Oaklands College, said: "Ruby’s work stood out from the very beginning.
"Her creativity, attention to detail and commitment to her craft are exceptional.
"This award is a testament to her talent and the hard work she has put into developing her skills.
"We are incredibly proud of her and thrilled to see her recognised on a national stage."
In addition to her award, Ruby has been invited to the Royal Ballet and Opera House for an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience.
She will spend time with professional departments, attend specialist talks, and tour the iconic venue.
Her work will also be exhibited at the Linbury Foyer, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, from June 11 to June 30, 2026.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view her winning designs during the public exhibition.
