Boots clear up confusion over pets inside St Albans store

The well-known high street chain came under fire on social media after a user suggested they were unable to take their dog inside the St Peter's Street Store.

The individual, who wished to remain anonymous, said they had been allowed to bring their pet with them "for years" until a recent visit.

This sparked debate online with many confused as to what Boots' legislation was and why pets were no longer allowed.

Others suggested it was "unhygienic" to take pets into the store and agreed they should be banned.

Boots said this was not a new policy, but understood the team at St Albans have now erected signs to clarify the rules to customers.

A spokesperson reminded shoppers: "As a high street healthcare provider, Boots does not allow animals in its stores, except for guide dogs and assistance animals."
