A Hertfordshire driver has been fined after being caught precariously carrying a football goal on top of their car.
Dashcam footage from Herts police, which has been viewed more than 1.1 million times on social media, shows a black car turning out of a T-junction - with posts and a net balanced on top.
The force said the goal was not secured properly and the driver, who has not been named, was later given three points on their licence.
They were also fined £120 and ordered to pay a £48 victim surcharge.
A Facebook post by Herts police said: "Own goal on the road!
"One driver landed themselves in trouble after carrying a football goal on top of their car. While this clip may have made you laugh (or gasp!), there’s a serious side.
"The goal was not secured properly and could have easily caused a collision. In the UK, driving with an insecure load is illegal and classed as dangerous.
"Serious cases can even lead to prison."
Officers recommend securing loads properly and keeping heavy items in the boot.
The incident took place on Furze Hill Road, Borehamwood, in May last year.
